Later entries into the series such as Jason Goes To Hell: The Final Friday and Jason Takes Manhattan are complete rubbish when compared to stronger entries in the series such as Jason Lives and of course the ultimate grudge match that is Freddy VS. turns out what we remembered as being awesome in most cases was utter trash.
We re-watched them all leading up to this RANKING and our thoughts have definitely changed a lot. That said when we were younger we loved the hell out of these movies. With laughably poor writing, terrible on screen performances and some poor set design Friday the 13th went from pioneering and forging new ground in the slasher realm to chasing its competition and eventually chasing its own tail. Such success in the box office and a huge fan following resulted in the Friday the 13th movies becoming almost yearly cinema entries and such saturation caused the series to become stagnant and seemingly move from slasher/horror movies to somewhat cheesy and at time downright laughable movies and their box office performance was representative of this fact. Here at Rewind Replay we love our selves some classic 80's horror and let's face it, in the 80's Freddy and Jason reigned supreme. Currently holding the highest kill count of any slasher villain, Jason isn't only supremely efficient but super cool as well. The opening flashback was a fantastic scene that I was amazed at how well it was shot.
The movie felt really short I do wish it was longer. Jason Voorhees is the ultimate slasher flick killer. Michael is finally a killing Beast were in other movies he kills maybe 10 people this movie ups the kill count significantly.
